Handmade crochet bag for Yoga mat

My daughter showed me a link of a Yoga mat cover.  and I just had to crochet one for mine.  Check it out.

I added a strap to be able to sling over my shoulder.  Its very light weight and a conversational piece.

I'm thinking of making a cylinder pillow case cover.  My yoga mat case has inspired me.

My office chair

My office consist of anywhere that's comfortable enough to sit for an hour or two and crochet something.  So I figured, oh my, I need a pillow and crochet a cover for it.  I had some left over yarn and came up with what's pictured below.

I used two strands of medium worsted yarn to crochet this side of the pillow.
the pattern consist of simple double crochet with one chain in between each dc.

Toss Pillow cover - handmade crochet.

this side of the pillow, I used the granny square techniques.

ooohhh... do you see my Yoga mat crochet bag.  I love it.  I added a strap so it can be carry easily anywhere.

Handmade crochet covers for netbooks Nook tablets and Nook Simple Touch e-reader

I have been crocheting covers, sleeves, bags for Netbooks, Tablets, and e-readers since I opened my etsy.com shop.  I'm loving it.  I feel more and more confident about my handmade items  and have figured out which crochet patterns really work.

I have learned how to execute a perfect patterns for Nook & Kindle Tablets, ereaders and netbooks.  It helps that I have and own all three.  I can really get the perfect dimensions and measurements and I check each sleeves I make to make sure its fits just rights.  And when I do make something a bit too tight or too big, I put them in my useless bins, for now, 'till I can figure out what to do with them.

Yarn at Walmart

I rushed to Walmart today for some yarn to correct a purchase order on my etsy shop.  I sent two customer each other's item.  and instead of waiting for the return item, I decided to go buy some yarn and just go ahead and recreate their purchase, to expedite the process.

To my luck, there were some yarn for discounted sale.  I bought a few.

This brand of yarn is not my usual choice, due to high price.
But this is my favorite.  Peaces & Creme makes 100% USA Grown Cotton Yarn.
and you know, cottons feels a lot better than acrylic yarn and stronger, and less fuss.

Caron Simply Soft Yarn
is what I came to get.  They usually retail for $3.27  but I got them today for $1.50 each
what a discount.  I wish I knew.  I didn't find out 'till I got rung up at the cash register.

Carol Simply Soft yarn is Made in USA
but of Imported Fibers.

RED HEART Super Saver Yarn, is my ultimate choice.
This yarn is what I usually use on majority of my etsy items.
It's just affordable and you get plenty for your money.

I was only able to make One Water Bottle Carrier with the Peaces & Creme yarn.
I have a bit of left over.  I'm about to see if I could crochet a iPhone case with the left overs.

Priceless Moment

$1.75 to catch a bus to town
$7.50 fee for cashing a check
$3.25 for lunch

Lunch at the park, PRICELESS!

Dropping off packages at the post office.

I was so thirsty from the hot walk to the post office and headed to the concession stand to get a drink.  the guy was so nice so when he offered the lunch special I decided to get lunch and eat at the park.

The cool of the breeze allowed me to enjoy the park even more.  So I pulled out my yarn and crochet hook and finished the water bottle carrier.

So I decided to continue on my itinerary and off to walk I did.  It was so hot I didn't make it but a few blocks.  Made a stop a Nu-Way and got a drink.  No water bottles, so I opt for a medium tea which looks like a large tea.

the water bottle carrier forgiving stretch made carrying my drink much easier.  The ultimate summer accessory must have.

Affordable Packaging System

I googled online to get ideas on how to package my handmade items that I sell on etsy.  and I ended up with something I thought I could afford and easily accomplished.

Materials I use:
  1. Plastic Bags from my grocery store - I get 75bag for about $2.00
  2. Packaging tape
  3. My Label - printed on standard 8.5 x 11 paper and using black ink only (to save money).  Sometimes when I can afford it I buy color paper but still use black toner only or black ink.
That's it.  Check out my video below to really get an idea on how easy and affordable your packing system can be.

The video above gives you a bit more details on what products and materials I use for packaging my handmade crochet lines for selling etsy.com
